Basic Teachings of Lord Buddha
Universal Truths
First Truth – Nothing lost in this universe. Everything transformed from one state to the other in the form of energy. A seed becomes a plant, and then a tree and ultimately gets mixed up with the soil like humans. Seasons change to bring about new life. Energy converted into matter and matter again into energy. That’s how this universe works. Life is like a river that flows on and on and never stops for anyone. Sometimes the path is very smooth and sometimes, it is full of rocks and snags. Similarly, life is full of unexpected challenges but you should keep on floating. This is the harsh truth but everything changed with time. Our mindsets, observations, living standards, appearances, and even facts change overtimes. Earlier, there were dinosaurs but now the scenario completely changed and the future is yet to come. Second Truth – Impermanence leads to suffering. We not only suffer in our life but also at the time of birth and death. We crave for a lot of things and never get satisfied. A poor want to become rich and a rich one wants to be a successful one. Their desires never end. Even after a time, happiness also gets converted into suffering as things are impermanence. So, always try to get satisfied with what you have because some even don’t have those. Third Truth – The third truth is “no-self”. This means you should never put your ego ahead while talking to other people. If you want to share something, try to share your good fortune. Our actions act like a boomerang. What we do to others, we receive the same, one, or the other way. This is karma.Noble Truths
Buddha has mentioned 4 noble truths of Life. In these four noble truths, Buddha explained about the sufferings and how to get rid of them. The first noble truth of Buddhism is inescapable suffering. The believers said that when Gautam left his palace, he saw an old man, a diseased man, and a decaying corpse. He realized that everyone has to do struggle in their life and have to bear the pain. From where these sufferings originated is the second noble truth. It springs from the greed, ignorance, and hatred that arises in our minds. All this happened because of our cravings to avoid difficulties. The third noble truth is that we can end all this if we change our minds and stop all unnecessary desires. These things are temporary, and all of us can attain Nirvana (a final goal of Buddhism). The fourth noble truth is the Eight-fold path of developing understanding, good intentions, skilful speech, action, livelihood, making efforts in the right manner, good concentration power, and right mindfulness. Then only we can understand the truth of life and can end our sufferings.I hope this article will help you to bring inner peace and enlightenment in your life and understand the importance of Buddha Purnima.
